Healthy Pregnancy

If you want your pregnancy to take its normal course without any complications you should prepare for it in advance. You’d better not to take any remedies that can do any harm to your fetus, avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. You should also control your diet: decrease the consumption of products which contain too much caffeine, eat food full of vitamins and minerals.
When you’ve decided to have a child, you should consult a doctor and discuss your medical history and pregnancy planning. MD will prescribe any remedy if necessary. It’s important that your partner should also be examined. Ask doctor any questions concerning pregnancy and prenatal care, so that he can give you proper advice and recommendations.
At about 2nd-3rd months of pregnancy your healthcare provider can advise you to attend a geneticist. It’s not obligatory, but some people find it very useful, because a geneticist can predict a hereditary disease and if possible prevent it.
An ultrasonic scanning is a very helpful tool. By means of it your doctor can control the development of a fetus.
Remember a strict rule: avoid body temperature increase. That’s why it’s better to refuse from saunas and bathhouses and don’t overdo exhausting exercises.
Vitamins are essential during pregnancy. Try to eat food which contains folacin, iron and calcium. Folacin is one of the most important vitamins, as it decreases the risk of brain, heart and spinal diseases. For this reason try to consume food containing it: bananas, broccoli, spinach, beans, pumpkin and others (mostly green vegetables and fruits). A healthcare provider can also prescribe you folacin and other useful substances in the form of vitamin tablets.
Your body changes and it’s normal. But it’s desirable to gain no more than 13-15 kg. If it’s not possible don’t try to lose weight or stick to any diet, it will be very harmful for your baby.
